Navigating your way around

Welcome to the main area of the PC-FirstAid.com web site. This "Home" page provides an outline of the structure of the site and how to find your way around.

The menu items at the top (About Us | Services | etc.) will cause this lower section to change accordingly. These lower sections are divided into two parts: a sub-menu on the left, and a details page, and what you're reading now is just such a page.

When you click on an item in the tabulated sub-menu on the left, you cause this details page to change too, according to the sub-menu item selected.

At the top of these detail pages is a "You are here" navigational aid to help avoid getting lost; note that the individual elements between the ">" symbols are live links so to go back a step or two you just have to click on the element you require.

Also at the top is a "Last Updated" component that shows when the corresponding details page was last changed; if this date is earlier than when you last read the page, don't bother reading it again!

The Main Menu

As you might expect, "About Us" tells you about the company and its founder. The next menu item "Services" provides full details of all the services that we have to offer along with current prices; it is the most relevant section of the site.

The "How To" section explains in simple language how to go about doing a number of tasks on your computer; in particular it provides detailed instructions on keeping your PC up to date and keeping it secure. There's material on how to optimise its efficiency, and on how to make best use of the various bits and pieces that are installed as standard on most computer, whether hardware and software.

All our clients are entitled to receive our free newsletters, published from time to time, typically every two weeks or so. Once published each newsletter is also uploaded to this site so if you've mislaid your copy you can always look it up here. The "Links" section is a collection of categorised web site links that I've gathered over time and that I think might be useful to clients; these are not just computer-related but include categories of general interest including travel, humour and domestic issues.

The "client2client" section is a listing of PC-FirstAid.com clients who also run their own small businesses; there's no charge for a mention here, so if you would like to be included please telephone me on 01604-870394 or

Should you wish to search this site for any particular term or phrase, use the Site Search facility; alternatively have a look at the Site Map for a simple hierarchical listing of all the pages in this site, where each mention is itself a link to the page itself.

Finally please be aware that this site will itself be updated from time to time, not least the "How To" and "client2client" sections.
